Greengaged北京工作坊的学员来自全国各地，各设计领域的专业设计师和优秀设计研究生。 Greengaged的两位创办者Sophie Thomas（Thomas Matthews 传播设计创办者及设计指导）和Anne Chick教授(英国金斯顿大学可持续设计研究中心主任)，将通过实地参观访问、研讨讲座、设计实践等多种形式引导学员们掌握绿色设计的思考、方法和技能。 其展览集将汇集中英设计师的绿色创意和Greengaged 在北京及伦敦的精彩故事。

ICOGRADA World Design Congress 2009 & China-UK Creative Entrepreneurs' Events, 20th–28th October 2009
From October 20th to 28th, 2009, greengaged is going to China to be part of the Icograda World Design Congress 2009 in Beijing. Running also as part of the British Council’s ‘China-UK Creative Entrepreneurs’ events lineup, the objectives of Greengaged-China are:
- To initiate a dialogue on sustainable design between international sustainable design experts and Chinese design community.
- To engage the wider design industry in getting involved, becoming informed and sharing expertise and opinions.
- To explore how creative entrepreneurs can contribute to a sustainable future
Greengaged China’s delegates are professional designers and excellent design postgraduates coming from all over China and representing a wide array of design disciplines.
Led by the co-founders of Greengaged, Sophie Thomas: Director and co-founder of thomas.matthews, and Anne Chick: Director of Sustainable Design Research Centre at Kingston University London, the delegates will explore sustainable design thinking, its methods and skills through a field trip, seminars and studio practice. The exhibition will showcase sustainable design thinking alongside engaging stories about the impact of sustainable design from both the UK and China.

After an incredible launch year in 2008 greengaged returned to the London Design Festival in September 2009 with a full week of world-class events designed to help the design industry tackle the big issues around sustainable design. Hosted by the Design Council, with five brilliant guest curators, greengaged inspired us all, and challenged the design industry as a whole to create positive change. So we’re in a bit of a mess. The threat of tipping points to unleash irreversible, runaway climate change looms. Oil production is peaking, the security of global food supply is creaking and we don’t even have anything decent to wear that isn’t made in sweatshops or doused in pesticides. We sort of know what we have to do, use less stuff whether it’s energy, materials or chemicals, cut carbon, relocalise and do things like trade in fairer ways. But we don’t. Ed Gillespie curates a day when we ponder why not and seek solutions to change...
